![]() But hey, I can confirm that BLM can tank it.Ī guide to Rhapsody's of Vana'diel step by step. ![]() Overall, spamming Fire and Fire II probably took around 22 minutes. So since I didn't think to bring an Elixir, all I had to work with was Devotion (which Cloud of Darkness simply absorbed the MP from soon after) and my Refresh from gear. Iroha's occasional Embrava helps, but I swear I was losing it somehow (dispelled or absorbed, I dunno). Aspir wasn't worth it (probably for the same reason my Blizzards were doing next to no damage - Cloud of Darkness has dark-based resistance). Cloud of Darkness has a move which absorbs MP, which sucks, and TP, which sucks even more because it'll almost never let you get Myrkr off (I never could). I was /WHM for teles (yes, I know I need to get the scrolls for my mule), so I didn't have access to Refresh or Convert. My primary difficulty in the fight was MP. It sounds tempting, but she's too unreliable with her SCs to wait on, and she often does 0-15 damage SCs due to the absorb mechanic, so you won't be doing any damage off them anyway. Don't try to MB a crazy high nuke with Iroha. Either let Iroha hit it or you hit it yourself before you resuming nuking, lest you make it start absorbing magic damage. Make sure to pay attention to its face and don't nuke as the first damage when the gem glows red. No Blink, Stoneskin (aside from cureskin), Phalanx, or anything. ![]() Provided the BLM has a decent DT idle set and is getting Cureskin from Afflatus Solace WHM, a Cure IV every 10-15 seconds is enough to keep BLM up. They were all dead by 60%, so I ended up tanking the rest of the fight on BLM while slowly chipping away with Tier I and II Fires (.5% - 1.5% each nuke). Tried Amchuchu, Selh'teus, Nashmeira II, and Kupipi. After my initial "omgwtf sudden difficulty ramp" reaction towards my failure of a first run, I was able to do it BLM + WHM mule.
